Mercier Therapy

Mercier Therapy is a hands-on, external, pelvic and abdominal manual therapy developed by Dr. Jennifer Mercier. It focuses on improving the mobility and alignment of the pelvic organs (uterus, ovaries, bladder, surrounding connective tissue) to support reproductive and pelvic health.

What to Expect

Mercier Therapy is focused, therapeutic bodywork, not a relaxation massage. The work is performed externally on the abdomen and pelvis using deep, specific pressure to address restrictions in the connective tissue supporting the pelvic organs.

Sensations can include deep pressure, intensity, tenderness, or emotional release. Some areas may feel uncomfortable as restrictions are addressed, but the work should never feel overwhelming or unsafe. Ongoing communication is encouraged, and pressure is always adjusted based on your feedback.

Sessions are intentional and methodical. Many clients notice changes over the course of the series rather than after a single session. It’s common to experience temporary soreness, fatigue, increased circulation, or shifts in pelvic sensation following treatment.

Clients are encouraged to support the work with rest, hydration, and gentle movement between sessions. Your body’s responses—physical and emotional—are a normal part of the process and are welcomed and respected.

My Approach

I trained directly and received my certification with Dr. Mercier in Geneva, Illinois. Mercier Therapy begins with an in-person, 90 minute consultation to review health history, goals, and receive a brief preview of hands-on work.

If we decide to move forward, clients commit to a series of 6, 1 hour sessions, completed once per week. This allows the work to build progressively and support lasting change. It is a wonderful complementary therapy to be used alongside medical care, massage therapy, pelvic physical therapy, and/or acupuncture.

Commitment

  • Initial in-person consultation: $200

  • 6-session Mercier Therapy series: $1,500 (paid in full at booking)

Payment in full is required to secure your weekly appointments and ensure continuity of care, as the work is designed to build progressively over the series.

All payments are non-refundable.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Mercier Therapy?
A non-invasive, external, hands-on abdominal and pelvic therapy that uses deep, targeted pressure to release restrictions in the uterus and surrounding pelvic tissues.

  • Is this a massage?
No. While it is hands-on bodywork, Mercier Therapy is focused therapeutic work, not relaxation massage.

  • Is the work gentle?
The work is non-invasive but deep. Pressure can feel intense or tender at times, and is always guided by your feedback and consent.

  • What does a session feel like?
Sensations may include deep pressure, tenderness, warmth, emotional release, or relief as tissue restrictions are addressed. Temporary soreness or fatigue afterward is common.

  • How many sessions do I need?
After an in-person consultation, clients who move forward commit to a 6-session series, completed once per week, to allow the work to build progressively.

  • Why 6 sessions?

Mercier Therapy is designed to work progressively, not as a one-time treatment. The pelvis and uterine support structures are held in place by strong ligaments and dense connective tissue that require repeated, consistent work to change.

  • Is the work internal?
No. Mercier Therapy is performed externally only on the abdomen, back, and pelvic area.

  • What should I do after a session?
Rest, hydrate, and allow time for integration. Gentle movement is often supportive.
